Porn 101: Industry Lingo Part 1

Pretty much every industry in the world has its own set of terminology and the world of porn is no different. Just like all those other industries, if you are not in the industry or closely follow it, you may not understand what certain things mean when you read a forum, watch a behind the scenes video or sometimes, the back of the DVD box. So below are a bunch of the more common ones that you may want to know.

Money Shot or Popshot: Sometimes shorten to simply the Pop is usually at the end of the scene and is when the guy ejaculates on some part of his partner or partners’ body.

Facial: A more specific term for a Popshot. In this case the Popshot is directed at the face.

Creampie: Another specific form of Popshot. In this case it is internal, either in the pussy or ass. There is usually a shot of the ejaculate oozing out of the ass or pussy to show that the male performer actually did orgasm. There are Fake Creampies as well but those are usually only scene in softcore movies.

DP: Short for Double Penetration. This is usually done when both a female performer’s pussy and ass are filled with either a real penis or a dildo. It can also refer to either penises or dildos being used on just one of the orifices bit that case is usually referred to as DAP (Double Anal Penetration) or DVP (Double Vaginal Penetration).

Pretty Girls: This is the name given to the photos that are taken of the female performers that are usually seen on the DVD in the photo gallery. They are also used for promoting the movie and are usually shot before the sex scene. They are almost always of the female performer by herself or with another female performer in the scene and usually don’t involve the male performers.

ATM or A2M: Stands for Ass to Mouth, where the male performer takes his penis out of the female’s ass and she immediately sticks it in her mouth.

Bareback: Usually used specifically with Gay movies, this refers to a sex scene that doesn’t use a condom.
